I know word travels fast these days, but assuming you all haven't heard yet I wanted to let everyone know that I asked Alana to marry me last night and she said yes! We're both really excited but haven't started making any plans yet (though Alana does have three new bridal magazines today). I think it's safe to say though you can expect for sometime next year in St. Louis.
We have other news too that we got a puppy, a female mini dachshund we've named Heidi. We're excited about her too, and even willing to accept a few "little wiener" jokes.
We hope everyone is doing well. We miss you all and can't wait to see everyone again!

Great news on both the engagement and the dog. I already felt like Alana was part of the family so I am glad that she is going to be official.
Thanks so much Jim for calling me and letting me know about the engagement. It was great news and feel blessed that Alana is to be officially part of the family now. We were just going to a wedding in Fort Wayne when you called. So I had to bragged a little about my grandson getting engaged and that we would be having another wedding soon. Hiedi is so cute and the ring isn't bad either. Jim you did well on the ring but more so with Alana. You couldn't have found anyone who fits in any better. Alana we are very excited to have you join the pack. Can't wait to see Hiedi, Did you have a hard time finding her? Love you both.
