We've adopted!

Yesterday we brought home the sweetest little girl - lots of dark hair and big, bright eyes and just cute as can be, and the boys are all thrilled to have a little sister - even if she does have four legs - actually, ESPECIALLY since she has four legs! Now you all know I can't deal with dogs - way too much work if you ask me - the day you see me walking a dog and carrying a bag of it's poop will be a cold day you know where - and having to worry about being home to let it out and stuff?!! Not my cup of tea, never was much of a pet person - then again I never wanted kids either! Go figure. The boys have been driving me crazy for a pet though - and fish were no longer making the cut, so we went with a kitten. I gotta tell you - putting down a box was a breeze compared to the stories my friends have told me about getting up at 5 in the morning to let a puppy out, and cleaning up all the messes until it gets trained and all that crap (literally!) So, just about 18 hours into this I'd have to say it's going pretty well! I had researched quite a bit and we went with a purebred Maine Coon (I just love saying "Maine Coon"!) cause they are supposed to be very social, playful and all that and actually like to be around all the action instead of the kind that go and hide. So, there we have it - a new girl in the house, her name is Sofie and I'll send a pic when I can get a decent one. Meanwhile this photo is an older one from the breeder and she's changed a lot already!

Happy Late Thanksgiving

We missed everyone at Thanksgiving! Had a nice visit with Todd's parents, but still not the same as "home" for me. I thought it was funny how Conner described one of his favorite parts of Thanksgiving is when you're at Granny's and you try to jockey for a good seat in front of the TV, and if you get one you don't want to get up - cause you know someone's gonna steal it - so you try to talk people into bringing you what you want so you won't have to get up! Aaah, that's what memories are made of - and we all missed it! Can't wait to se you all at Christmas - when we get our drawing names I put them in a bowl for the guys to draw from - so they get to experience that part of it. Cole keeps asking me who "won the drawing" ! Love to you all - watch the blog for big news coming from us soon - I'll post again later - gotta go. T

Gobble! Gobble!

Although at this moment there is not a room in my house that is in order (it has to be total chaos before I can put it all back together.... and it was way overdue for a good cleaning!), I wanted to take the time now to say how much the whole Day family means to me. I truly get excited when I think of us gathering together, whether in spirit or in being. Family is definitely at the top of the list of things to be grateful for! Love you all! Enjoy the turkey (and/or roast)! Beth

THANKSGIVING

Just a note to remind everyone that we eat at l:00 Thanksgiving Day. Hope everyone is going to make it o.k. Also don't forget to think of some ideas for your drawing for Christmas. Terri and Cheryl don't forget to send ideas so that we can put them down for you. I'm assuming that you all are going to Mike's for Christmas and that you want to do the exchange between everyone. Looking forward to seeing everyone Thanksgiving and also at Christmas.

Had a blast

Well, Granny had a busy day shopping. You should have seen her carrying all those packages around the mall. Although we did already make one trip to the car for her...and that was within the first hour. Seriously though it was a great time. I hope I didn't embarrass everyone by using the cane. I also appreciate everyone that had to help me with my shoes. I will pursue that issue with the doctor more on Monday. I do hope all the packages got to the right state. Tom brought them all in last night but I haven't gone through them to make sure I have everything. I really didn't expect us to be that late. Next year we may need to stay the night we are shopping then drive home on Sunday. They did have some good sales though...and Melissa passing out the Bed, Bath and Beyond coupons to everyone helped also. I enjoyed seeing everyone....hope you all have a great Thanksgiving. I love you all.

I have the Family Info

Yes it has made it's way to me and I have not been able to update it. Not that I really have changes yet but mom has given me Paul's kids info so I need to update that. I will try to get it out this weekend (after shopping Saturday). Can't wait to see everyone that can make it.

BIRTHDAYS

Well, I goofed again. Didn't get a Happy Birthday off for Drew on Sunday and Mikey on Monday. Although I have Mike down for Today as his birthday, so I might not be late on his. But anyway, hope you both had a very good birthday. Love to both, Granny Pat

Basketball season-yay!

NEVER ADDED A VIDEO BEFORE - HOPE IT WORKS! (Cole makes the basket - he is #1, literally)

Football ended last weekend with Wyatt's team losing in the city championship final game - so, that makes 2 years in a row they've been runner-up. Maybe next year!

Now it's on to basketball! We have 5 teams between them all (6 if you count the one Todd is coaching that none of our boys are even on!) so our schedules will be crazy as usual. But CYO hasn't started games yet, so for now it is just league play for "fieldhouse" teams that Cole and Wyatt are on. Wyatt will play CYO, too - but Cole is too young - so the fieldhouse team will be his only one. But he was so excited to have a team with his friends and to finally get to play - he crawled into bed with me this morning all dressed in his uniform and said "This is the best day of my life"!

A friend was videotaping the game and I got a copy from her - here is a clip of Cole, he made the first basket of the game and they went on to win 24-0. It may be their only win - all the other teams besides the one they played today are 2nd grade, so we'll see how it goes. I've also got photos to go through from halloween/football and stuff that I'll put on the blog soon. Trying to get better at all this - hope all are well and we're looking forward to Christmas with you all!

shopping Nov 21

Barbie and I are meeting in Nashville on Nov 21 for our annual shopping outing to Opry Mills. Just wanted to let everyone know if anyone else wanted to join us. Mom, Anna and my girls will be joining us. We are debating on a Friday night stay. The mall doesn't open until 10 (11 eastern time). Holiday hours don't begin until Black Friday.

PRAYER REQUEST (plus hats mom). This little girl is the niece of Will's kindergarten teacher and cousin of one of Haley's classmates. She is only 6 years old and was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. There has been only a half dozen or so cases of this reported. Mom this is the little girl that I asked you to make hats for. She is already losing her hair and they have opted for hats instead of a wig. http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/emilyknerr

love you all and hope to see some of you in Nashville.
