A day at the Track

No not Churchill Downs. Haley had her first track meet. She was in the 50 yard and 200 yard. She was awesome as usual. It was for 3rd through 6th grades and it introduces them to some of the track events. She was the only one in her class (and maybe the 3rd grade?) to sign up for it. But there were several other kids there that she knew plus some from other schools that she knew from soccer. She surprised me in the 200. She knew she wasn't supposed to go all out in the beginning so she hung back the first time around the track. Then when she reached the last turn on the second lap she kicked it in and started flying past everyone. She didn't win but she did great. She was one of the top few in the 50. Nothing was really formal and I was trying to take pictures so I didn't really see who finished where. But I love watching them try different things.

School Time

We received Reese's letter of acceptance to the Performing Arts School yesterday. We have to accept by Friday. Didn't give us much time to get the letter back to them. We are still waiting to hear from our local school but feel she would love the Performing Arts School. It is right up her alley. Jeff is sitting up a "Fashion Show" stage with music and lights that she got for Christmas now. It is in the living room for now because there wasn't room in the basement. She went to put on a dress because she said you had to wear a dress because that is how it's done on "Dancing With the Stars". She really watches to much TV.

We are having a surprise princess party at Kazoing off Westport Road on the 6th. We invited eight of her little friends. Hopefully they won't tell her. They get to dress up, have their hair done (lots of luck with Reese's), makeup and nails painted. They walk on the royal red carpet and have their picture taken. It should be fun for the girls.

I wish you all could see the show now. Jeff has a flashlight using it as a spot light and we are announcing her to the runway. She eats it up. They just went for a wardrobe change. Who knows what she will come back with this time. We had a little malfunction with the music so we had to find dance music. Jeff is showing her how to go through the back of the runway stage. It is about a 4x4x4 square made out of red tent fabric with a 4' runway. Really cute. I can only hope the basement gets cleared out soon so she can get it to the lower level. She just came out with a lime green baby blanket tied in two places to make it a strapless mini dress. It is really pretty cute except she has her shoes on the wrong feet. Powder and Chance keep going in the tent box, good name for it, and she screams "wild cats" and runs out. We will never have a dull moment as long as she is around. Hope you all are having as much fun as we are. We just told her it was time for bed and she started crying. Needless to say she is sleepy.

Before I forget, her dance recital is May 16th at either 1:00 or 6:00 pm. If anyone is interested let me know so I can get tickets. They are $5/each. Don't feel like you have to go just wanted to let everyone know. I think it lasts about 2 hours and she will only be in 2 groups (tap and hip hop) which will probably not last more than 3 minutes each.

Have a good week. Love ya all.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DELANA

Hey Day family...whats going on?

I know it's been a while. Guess everyone is busy just doing normal day to day stuff. I know that is about all that is going on here. Tom just finished up the spring session of pool. They were first in the league for 8-ball which qualifies them for the City Tournament. They qualified for 9-ball City Tournament during the winter session. They have to win one of the City Tournaments to get the free trip to Vegas for the Nationals in August.

Kids soccer games got cancelled yesterday due to the wonderful weather. We just got a lot of rain no damage....and Tom's sealing of the copper roof over the bay area held...so no waterfall in the dining room.

Back to physical therapy for my sacroiliac. I just want to get back into running. But right now I'd be happy to be able to walk the neighborhood without pain. I found a better orthopedic doctor so hopefully he will come up with some answers. The last doctor I went to I didn't care for. He didn't work on backs so when he told me my hip was okay he acted like he could care less that I hurt. I'm learning you sometimes have to shop around for the right doctor.

Hope everyone is doing well...let us know whats going on....even if it is just normal day to day stuff. Remember, not everyone (Granny for instance) isn't on facebook and doesn't get your status updates.

Guess I'll see you all soon at the wedding. Love you all.

Thanks to All

Thank you everyone that was able to go to Beth and Alan's for Easter. The weather turned out great, and I believe the little ones enjoyed their egg hunt. Maybe even the big ones had some fun with finding their names. We missed you who were unable to come this year, but we will all get together at the wedding. So again, it was great to see everyone.

Jesus Chris has risen today, ay, Aaaahuhaaahuhaaahleeeeiiiiluuu uuuuh iiaa!

kind of hard to sing in writing. Happy Easter. Waiting on Anna to get back from the store to finish the hot dried beef dip. Anna said "But Gary isn't here", I told her that means the rest of us will get to eat some.

Miss every one who isn't able to make it. It is a beautiful day!

Love you all.

The weekend itinerary

Well the plans. The spaghetti dinner is over, it was good.

The Papa John's starts at 8:00 from........wait for it.....Papa Johns Stadium. I talked Melissa into walking/running with me and got Mike to register her before she could back out.

The kids race is around 10:00.

Delana is having us over for supper. Mike is grilling hot dogs and hamburgers. Let him know if you plan on going. He said dinner is at 6:00.

4k classroom

just wanted to let everyone know that my boss called me this morning to offer me the 4k classroom position. me and my new coteacher are very excited. i will start in there in a week. we also have graduation we have to plan for and will be so much fun

Easter

Okay - don't know if you all realize it but there seems to be some big basketball games going on around here right now. I don't see the big fuss myself, but my kids are all kind of freaked out about not being in town for these so called "games" - so it looks like we will be coming down just for the day on Sunday. I thought I would at least have Cole on my side to come down early with me - but he too has gone to the dark side. I should have seen it coming since he's been shooting hoops all the time lately, but I thought it would pass. But he's really gotten into all the hoopla, too! Case in point - here is what I saw when I went into his room this morning:
Todd had taken all the boys down to "Bracket Town" to partake of the festivities (apparently face painting the butler bulldog on children was one of them!) and to see the slam dunk contest and such. I was already asleep when they got home and obviously no one else seemed to think washing faces before bed was a good idea!

I am truly outnumbered. I look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday - we'll get down as soon as possible, definitely in time for the egg hunt. I'm so bummed to miss any pre-Easter fun! See you all soon (but not soon enough!)
