guess I can post something
Had a busy week with school 2 midterms and a quiz. My math teacher had a quiz the day before the midterm and it wasn't what was going to be on the midterm - don't understand that. Also Jeff and I went looking at rings on Friday so he could get an idea of what I might like. Work is going well we have had three children from my class leave the center, makes me very sad - I have been with this class now for two years and have become attached to them. I hope everyone else is doing well and we will see you all soon.

Where's the sunshine!
Mom, sorry that you are bored. I hate that it's been really cold down there for you. But just think, New Albany's high for tomorrow is 36. You do still have 3 weeks, so I will say a quick prayer that they are nice and warm and sunny. (done) We are supposed to hit the low 50's this weekend so I hope you are even warmer.
Adding a couple of pictures from the Mercedes weekend. Everyone did great. okay, no pictures at this time because I'm tired of fighting with my internet connection. I'll try again tonight. Not much going on here, just waiting for spring. The kids just finished with gymnastics. They start soccer inMarch, then they may pick it up again. I hope we don't have as much trouble with the rain this season.
gonna go while I'm still connected and I may actually be able to post this.

Hello from the Freezing South
I'm copying Terri. This weather is for the birds. Six weeks of wind, and I do mean wind, 35 to 50 miles an hour sometimes. Rain, but no snow although they are having it in the panhandle here. Right now it is 48 degrees and its noon. But cann't complain too much as we could be stuck inside with the snow. Just hope it warms up soon. It already shows next week is more of the same tho. Glad to see some more of you getting on here. Keep it up.

Finally!
I've been keeping up with posts, but couldn't figure out why I couldn't write a post of my own. But, I realized I was signed in under my work email, not personal ...
Staying busy, but not necessarily exciting. Haley and Will are both still in gymnastics. Haley made pre-team, which have practices for 2 1/2 hrs at a time. For an 8 yr old, that's tough! But, she enjoys it. I think she has decided to take a break so she can do her other love - soccer. She especially loves being a goal keeper - I think it's the fearlessness that helps her more than just talent - she's not afraid of diving in front of flying soccer balls - though I get a little squeamish.
We're all running in the Mercedes races next week. Rob is doing a 5K, Haley and Will are both running in the Kid's Mercedes (1 miles), and I'll be doing the half marathon again. I don't think my time will be under 2 hours this time - even though my training has been consistent, I don't seem to have the energy this year. Oh well - just glad to do it regardless of my time.
I'm having flashbacks of my high school days - I'm doing yearbook for the school this year.
Hmm .. what else. We went to the mountains in NC last weekend and almost got snowed in! It snowed about 10-12 inches while we were there. Nothing to y'all up north, but my poor kids haven't seen snow but once! We had a great time.
Headed over to a friend's to watch at least part of the Super Bowl - Go Colts!
Love you ALL - can't wait to see you for Easter (anyone doing the Papa john's 10 miler?) and at the wedding!! If anyone needs some warm weather in between, we have plenty of room to visit, especially between mom and my house.

Barbie Talk
Come on Terri, you've been away too long if you've lost the nack of "Day Speak".
Similar to "Day Time". Day Time is that you don't leave to go where you need to go until you are supposed to be there. Our Saturday lunches have gone from meeting at 11:30 to meeting at 12:00 and we usually show up about 12:15.
Day Speak is, you don't finish a sentence and you have at least 3, usually 5, stories going at one time, and hopefully you remember what the original story was and you actually end up finishing it. the other 4 stories can be left hanging because they are usually totally irrelevant to the original story. When I left work the other day and was shutting down my PC I found I had 5 email drafts started that I hadn't finished. I was another half hour at work.
I think Day Time is truely a Day trait, but I believe the Day Speak is actually an Ang trait.
GO COLTS!!!!!
I'm assuming the Metzger's are going to be partying tonight. I wish the SuperBowl wasn't so late. I've been invited to a couple of places, but Sunday night is wind down and get ready for work night. I think I'm going to be cheering my Colt's on alone, well, John is starting to tolerate me having football on the TV, I'll see if I can't get a cheer or two out of him.
Then next week is Daytona! First official race of the Nascar season. It is Newman's year.....I hope.

What's Barb talking about . .?
Totally out of the loop up here - I don't know what you were cooking (hope you enjoyed it though) and what you were hanging (actual windows or just curtains?) Saw Granny and Mel discussing Porcupine balls in the comments though - and I gotta tell you that it is my boys all time favorite dinner - porcupine balls, mashed potatoes, green beans and dinner rolls, and if it's report card night or something special we throw in the cherry pie and it's the "best day ever" here at the Metzgers. I have a great oven porcupine recipe I use - I even have some "balls" made up and kept in the freezer, just in case! It's one of my favorites too - always reminds me of "down home".
Hope everyone is doing well - I just finished a huge (175!!) cookie order for an event up here, along with a few super bowl orders, along with my own personal stuff to contribute to the Super bowl festivities. Needles to say I am sickened by the sight of sugar right now - so, I just stuffed myself with a bunch of chili, nachos, mexican, anything salty or spicy that I could get my hands on to counteract it all. So now I'm miserable and am sure I've undone in this one night the 7 lbs I've actually lost by trying to eat healthy lately (and giving up my beloved fountain coke!) Oh well, I actually think it was worth it! Take care everyone!

Just wanted to let you all know that I talked with Dodie today and she said Uncle Mel was doing o.k. The cancer in his lung was a stage l and they were able to get it all and it was o.k. So everthing is fine. Thought you all would want to know.
