Lazy Days

I was thinking of "Lazy Days of Summer" not just lazy Days...(I'm thinking of me, in particular, right now, at this moment...no one else in particular) - but if you are feeling guilty... For some reason I woke up feeling zapped and besides catching up on laundry and e-mails and old magazines, haven't accomplished much else today.

I did just catch the garbage men on their route and, surprise to me, found out we could be placing one bulk item out with our regular trash pickup each week. They were nice enough to wait while I grabbed the cushions and pillows from the mildewed, sour-smelling couch waiting to be pitched! I need to call the Street Dept. back and see just what it is they pick up - they said they will pick up once a month...!!?? I'm confused!!?? and this is our week for pick up...

Alan has been in Guadalajuara, but flew into St. Louis Thursday night to help Jim with some more painting and projects. I rode with Marilyn (who had just happened to be visiting her Mom here) and got to St. Louis just after noon on Friday. Then both Alan and I flew out Monday morning - Alan back to Guadalajuara and me to Louisville. Alan will get home this Thursday and right back out on Monday for a few weeks in Europe (Turkey and Croatia, among others, but not the places Drew and Jessica will be visiting!) By the way, Jim was living just south of Bari, in Manfredonia (maybe 50 miles or so - Jim can correct me, but I googled, and I think this is close!)

Laura has been putting together a box to send to Alex. She has received several items from him, and they are able to talk several times a week.

Matt and Rachel (Nolan) had their baby, Natalie Rae (a few weeks early) on June 25. She is adorable and I can tell it will be fun having a baby around once again. It definitely has been a while for the Nolan Family!

I have survived all disasters at the Library (including the Greenway presentation and getting off on Friday, the 3rd, at the last minute...) I've worked hard at making my life simpler...woe is me when things get a little complicated or difficult! I know Alan and my kids are all rolling their eyes just about now.

Looks like we will head in the opposite direction soon to see Gary and Rachel's new place (haven't been to Columbus yet at all - excited to get there!) Jim will manage to stay busy all on his own for a while. Don't forget to ask him how many different paint colors it takes to paint one wall (nevertheless a whole house!) And he might want to warn Rachel what a sloppy painter I am! Maybe I'm not that bad, but not very patient and I definitely can't "cut in" - Alan and Jim are pros!

Every one take care! Love, Beth

I saw Matt and Rachel on their first walk with baby Natalie. They said Aunt Beth was really crazy about her. It's so good to have kids in the neighborhood.
