I almost never blog, but I say it's because I never have anything new to report.
Most of you know that I'm home for the summer- working at Dr. Black's again. It's going well. Getting more experience and still learning. And making money in the process, which is never a bad thing.
I'm not heading back to Bloomington until mid to late August. Classes don't start until the 31st, but I'll be going up a week or so before that to start a part-time job up there. It's at an optometrist's office. But it will be more office work and more optical work (which is no fun) than my job here. And it's a pay cut. But my fall schedule is so light, I needed something to keep me busy.
Alex is "settled in" in Iraq. Well, I guess about as settled as you can be over there. He has his computer, and he has internet access. So if you want, you can e-mail him at jalexkenney@gmail.com. He's pretty busy. But when he's not working he's pretty bored, too. You can send him mail, too, if you'd like. A regular stamp is all you need for a normal letter (no extra postage, no customs form). I sent my first package out just last week. Took me some time to figure out the customs form and get myself to the post office. Here's his address:
1LT Kenney, James A.
546th Maintenance Company
COB Adder
APO AE 09331
I went to DC about three weeks ago for the AOA (American Optometric Association) Conference. Some of you might have seen the pictures on facebook. We visited the exhibit hall several times to get all the free stuff! And went to several Boards review classes. And it was fun, too. We even got to see Jeff Foxworthy perform. My friend Amanda and I took late flights out so we could spend Sunday sightseeing. We got to see most of the monuments and memorials, but it was very exhausting.
I've had very little to do since then. But then once I do end up having things to do, I end up double-booked. Alex Gettelfinger is getting married on Saturday, and I'd really like to go. But my friends from Indy planned a weekend at our friend's cabin in Brown County. I might try to do both, but not sure if it will really work out or not.
I guess that's about all I have to say.

Laurie, great to see you blogging, and to hear how you are doing and also about Alex. I'm working on his afghan, but its show right now until my shoulder gets better, but its coming along. I copied his e-mail down and will send him a note sometime soon. Did you get Anna's new home address from Barb. Still have to get Jim's and Gary's. Take care, Luv Granny
