Reese left yesterday for her "20 day" visit at Grans. Mom called me after 17 minutes into their drive and said Reese was sleeping. She said when they got to the end of our driveway Reese said "Gran, can you believe it, we are finally getting to go to your house?" She had been so excited asking every day if she was going to Grans.
Jeff and I talked with her for a few minutes last night and she said she was having fun and didn't have time to talk. She has a full schedule planned. Uncle Rusty gave her $50 to take Gran to Camden Park which is like Six Flags. Friday night they are going to see Madagascar 2 in the park with a picnic. She told Mom she didn't get to see the whole movie when she went to the theatre because she was bad. Hopefully this time she will make it through to the end.
Summer, the 3 year old who lives across the street from Mom came over as soon as she saw Reese there and stayed until 9:30. I think Mom had her hands full with the two of them. They are both jealous of each other and don't like to share that well. Today our friend Teri dropped her daughter Erin who is 15 off to spend the day with them. They called me on their way to the grocery store this morning. Reese thought they needed to get a few things.
Mom said when she went to check on Reese this morning she was lying in bed and Mom ask her what she was doing and she told Mom she was just lying in the sun thinking and she could do that all day. She also told her she was never going home. We will see how long that last.
In the mean time at the home front we are having the drywall work done and hopefully the painting. The contractor was suppose to be here between 8 and 8:30 this morning to get started but I received a call around 9 rescheduling for noon. Hopefully this isn't a sign of how the work is going to be done.
Reese is missed but hopefully we can use the time wisely. I am going to try and get my office in order and I think Jeff is going to try and get caught up on his 700+ work emails while there are no interruptions.
I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th. Love you all.

The first week is usually nice, the second okay then you are really ready for them to get home. I never should have let Stan have the kids every summer, they missed out on too much back home. But then they probably wouldn't be as close to Donnie and Helen and Don if I hadn't let them.
Sounds like Reese is going to have a blast. But I believe she will be ready to come home by the end of it.
That sounds like Reese. I can hear her talking. I'm sure she is having a great time there. Hope your work all gets done o.k. The 4th was just the usual Saturday lunch time at 5 Guys. Beth& Alan were in St.Louis, Barbie was there for a short time, Mike & Delana,Sherry & Chris, John, Laura and her friend Hannah and us, and then to home.
We talked with Reese last night and she wanted to come home when she heard we were picking tomatoes. Mom said they watched a magic show after we talked and she was fine.
Tonight when we talked with her she wanted me to come get her. She said she just wanted to come home. We are going to see how she is doing tomorrow. They were going to the horse farm tomorrow along with the movie so maybe she will make it another day. I just hate for her to cry. She sounds so sad.
I have a feeling I won't get any of my work done but that's ok to.
Hope everyone is doing well.
