I guess I don’t really know the “proper” way to do this, but I care about all of you, so I want to keep you all updated on my life.
I wanted to let you all know that Alex and I broke up this past week. We really care for and love each other, but the situation we’re in right now turned out to be too much. I’ve been trying to keep it going because things are great when we’re together, and for the hope of a happy future together. But it’s worn me down, and gotten to the point where it just may not be worth it anymore.
Technically he was the one to break it off, but I had been considering it as well. We were just at an impasse. They way we viewed and dealt with the time apart was too different.
And yes, I’m doing okay. You all don’t have to worry about me.

Laurie, I'm so sorry to hear about the breakup and I'm sure it was a very hard decision to make for both of you. A long distance romance is hard to go through and we will just have to believe that everything will work out for the best for both of you. We all love you very much, and only want the best for you. Sorry Laura, and Alex. Relationships aren't easy, especially long distance.
Laura and Alex, if you are to be together it will all work out. I don't know if anyone was really aware of it or not but your uncle Jeff and I also broke up before we got married. We managed to get back together and have been married for 16 1/2 years now. Things have a way of working out when they are ment to be. Take care. You do have many years ahead of you. Love you.
