We were lucky and never lost power for more than a few minutes. Alan and I both ended up slipping on our driveway at some point. I don't recall ever taking a fall so quickly - one minute standing, the next wondering if my body will be found before I'm frozen. Not really, but I took a tremendous konk to the back of my head.
This is "the spot". I understand the three hardest things are ice, concrete and heads, and all three were involved in that fun ordeal. I think Alan took the brunt of his fall on his back. But we have minimal damage to clean up after. Ike was much worse for us. Even the bushes have icicles!
But once the ice began to melt - snap, crackle, pop, thud! - things got back to normal. The holly that tried to get warm in Gary's room is tall once more, and I can tell just how much my roses need to be trimmed back.
For Jim, a picture of his "old" car. More icicles!!
One last picture of the "glass trees" - almost pretty!!?? And a peek at the holly trying to get warm...as it's beginning to thaw.
Everyone take care!!

I wish we were able to see the complete picture of our house. Jeff is going to send me some pictures. The "glass tree" is pretty. Did you all have any actual damage that you couldn't take care of. I hope not. Will call later.
